This is my original painting depicting a landscape from along the Colorado Trail.
12 x 16 painting, hand painted with watercolor paints on 300lb watercolor paper.
This painting was inspired by a spot along the Colorado Trail. I took a picture of this area as we were pushing ourselves to get to the top of the hill so we could finally rest. We had spent the day hiking uphill on an old logging road that was very rough and rocky. Though the trail was difficult I loved coming to this little spot and seeing the light shining through the trees - it looked so magical! This was one of the most memorable parts of the trail to me because of the difficulty combined with the beauty of the forest.
