This is an original painting of Death Canyon, a spot along the Teton Crest Trail.
Painted with fast and free brushstrokes to evoke the wonderful beauty of this flowing landscape. As we were hiking I was drawn in by the way the valley swept up and down. The trees appeared to flow down the hillside almost as if they were in motion. The colors were vibrant yet slightly muddled because of the low clouds and misty rain. I was glad to see this particular spot on a cloudy day because I think it gave a rather unique beauty.
